The captain led his charges to a hard-fought victory over Leicester

Another win, another final 20 minute scrap but the Reds pulled off a second win on the bounce for what feels like the first time in years. It isn’t but it’ll feel like that to the players too and that can only prove to be a good thing as we head towards a home league game against Sunderland and a crucial (as crucial as Olympiakos) Champions League home tie next week.

I'm a 32 year old Liverpool fan, living in the heart of the City Centre. I've supported the club since the day I was born and have been writing articles for L4L for over 3 years, writing close over 350 articles in that time. My favorite player of the past generation is Sami Hyypia.

I am the current editor for L4L, with my day job being in R&D for the NHS.

    The difference has been :
    1-resting Gerrard v stoke
2-playing round pegs in round holes…Lucas.

I’d like to see Gerrard rested again and play Can alongside Lucas. Drop Johnson please. Forget the goal he scored. He is a liability 9/10.

Br is bereft of ideas of what are needed to turn around a match. Coutinho was not surposed to come of the tunnel at all for 2nd half – not to talk of playing for another 27 minutes. What was can doing on thew bench. Again, what is the need of given lambert full 90 minutes when he could not take a single shot at the post . Imo, an academy graduate could have done 10 times better -even a tortoise would not be as slow as he was yesterday. Imo, irrespective of the naive summer dealings of ayre & co, we still have a decent squad for a resourceful coach to have taken us atop – but br is not that coach- he can’t lead us anywhere.
