Lambert puts Liverpool on course for the three points with a super finish

There was a shaky 20 minute period in there when Villa look absolutely certain to find an equalizer but, in all fairness to the lads, perhaps our experiences over the past few years have made us cynical, as they team held firm with some excellent defensive work and last ditch challenges to keep the home team at arm’s length.

A team with a more ruthless attack would’ve done more damage perhaps, but Skrtel, Sakho, Can and Lucas have shown a different side to Liverpool in the past month, as the Reds have now rediscovered what it takes to keep a clean-sheet and are beginning to make something of a habit of it.

The return of Sterling helped, as most sides tend to either mark or kick the youngster out of the game but with Dan back in training, Brendan will soon have the option to send out a forward line consisting of the man himself, Sterling, Coutinho, Lallana, Markovic and Ibe – something that is sure to give both our own and other managers pause.

We should all be pleased with the win, but I totally disagree with the manager that we are back to performing like last season. For me this was a very poor performance against a very poor Aston villa. Apart from the goal borini was very poor. Problem is Brendan got exactly what he wanted, borini and lambert to score as most fans don’t believe they should be on the pitch , now he can say he knows better but sorry although I congratulate them on their strikes , we would have won this game comfortably with better quality up front. Almost every other team in the league has better strikers (Sturridge apart )

Don’t be such a frigging moron, tsumo. Liverpool struggled to beat a pathetic Aston Villa side and you agree with BR that the team has turned the corner. From their display, Liverpool will smashed into a brick wall as soon as they have turned that so-called corner.

Reds were poor, but keeping a clean sheet was great. Don’t sideline Bali. He’ll come good. Did well in last few games he featured. Go L’pool!

The team tried by getting all the three points, but am not satisfied with there performance on the pitch, LIVERPOOL needs a good striker to occupy the void created by the departure of Suarez. I wish the team can sign LAVEZZI

Apart from the goals, it was a pathetic very feeble performance by lfc. We were only lucky that villa did not equalize otherwise they could have won the game. Borini & lambert, apart from the goals they scored, were complete trash. And, why all this praise for markovic of recent ? He is nothing but a feeble amateur player who is not even qualified to be in chelsea fc academy & we wasted 20m on him – thank God ibe is back & he ten times better. As a matter of urgency, we must sign a good keeper this winter or forget about any hope of top 4. Apart from the benteke short, mignolet was jittery & pathetic all through the match. In fact, M.D, Ayre & co deserves sack for all their poor businesses.
