Skrtel and Gerrard enjoyed differing fortunes against Chelsea

After a most valiant effort Liverpool finally crashed out of the league cup to Chelsea in harsh circumstances.

With Diego Costa the main villain of the piece, and Jose Mourinho his able accomplice, Liverpool will feel justly hard-done by today, regardless of Chelsea’s attempts at deflecting attention from Costa’s animal antics with various penalty claims and attempts to get Liverpool players sent off.

That said, there are only two teams that can reach the final and Liverpool aren’t one of them but there were some great performances, despite that disappointment.

So proud of the team performance, sure it’s sad we lost but what a fight the players gave, we lost as chelsea have that extra bit of quality which is expected with the money they have and we don’t have a finisher in the team. But credit to Brendon , he knows he has messed up with Balo and lambert and leaves them out. But some of our football has been incredible to watch and on par to last season except the goals. We need to give brendon more time as he seems to be learning all be it very slowly

Lucas is simply brilliant. I just hope Rodgers’ appalling mishandling of him won’t see him leaving in summer. 5.5 for Lambert? Surely .5 was sufficient?
