As the transfer window’s now been officially closed for a week, the gossip may calm down somewhat, but with the Reds needing to make some signings in the summer in key areas there have been some interesting stories in the past week.

Firstly, the news from the January window was that Liverpool are almost certain to sign Danny Ings – of Burnley – in the summer. The player will be out of contract but, as he is U-23, the Reds will be made to pay compensation to his club, a few that many believed was agreed at around £5 million.

However, the news now is that Burnley will reportedly look to squeeze another couple of million out of LFC and that may well become bad news for Liverpool, as the likes of Manchester City had also shown interest in Ings and wouldn’t be against shelling out a bit extra in order to ward off a direct rival and have the striker warm their bench.

Elsewhere, Rodgers is believed to be on the lookout for competition for current in form number one, Simon Mignolet, who had previously been in terrible form but has made some major improvements in his form since the end of last year.

Reports state that Liverpool are chasing the Real Madrid ‘keeper Keylor Navas, who was signed in the summer after a great season in Spain and some superb displays at the World Cup. However, since joining the club, he has been kept out of the first team by Casillas and is apparently unhappy at the lack of action.

The goalkeeper has now reportedly told teh club he wants to leave and Brendan Rodgers has taken a look at the Costa Rican international who could be available during the summer window.
