Kolo believes the team will benefit from the break

With barely a break for breath between games in the past couple of months, Liverpool will now have a spell of over a week before their next match – against Swansea – in which to recuperate and prepare for the final (hopefully) dozen hurdles standing between the club, the FA Cup and a Champions League place.

The toll taken on the team was evident during the FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday, as the Reds labored to a 0-0 against lower opposition. And although a replay will follow, the fact that the team now won’t have another match until 16th March will allow the squad to recharge their batteries before ‘going again’, to steal a popular Steven Gerrard turn of phrase.

It’s a line of thought that Kolo Toure follows, with the Liverpool defender agreeing that a week break can only be a good thing for the team. Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, the popular Reds defender said: “We’ve played three games in a row which were tough games.

“I think we dealt with that very well. Now we’ll just relax a little bit and come back strong because the next game is going to be really important.”

Hopefully, the boys will come back all the stronger and be raring to go against Swansea City on 16th March.
