Could the winger that put Liverpool out of the title race last season be on his way to Anfield?

In a strange turn of events, reports in the past 24 hours are claiming that Liverpool are considering making a cash plus player offer for Crystal Palace star, Yannick Bolasie.

The player in question that Liverpool are believed to want to throw in to any potential deal is Rickie Lambert, who’s summer dream move has quickly turned into a nightmare, as it has become apparent that Brendan Rodgers deems him surplus to requirements after being unable to find a way to fit Lambert into any system.

Bolasie has seen his reputation enhanced in the past 12 months, with some eye-catching displays for Palace, in particular his performance against Liverpool in the 3-3 draw that saw Liverpool squander their lead at the top of the Premier League.

Bolasie is currently in the midst of his best season for Palace, with 6 assists along with 4 goals. Those aren’t outstanding statistics but for a player at a relegation threatened side, it isn’t too bad. Has this season been so good that Liverpool should offer Palace £20 million though? Certainly not, but that’s what Palace are believed to be looking for for the player.

It’s debatable whether the winger is even worth the £10 million that the club were hoping to offer to land the player but, hopefully, if the asking price is higher, Liverpool will just walk away.

Typical Liverpool. You wasted money buying Lambert last year and now you want to offload him and get Bolasie at a cut price fee. If Bolasie was playing for a team in Europe you would be prepared to pay over and above to get your man but because he plays for a fellow English team you want to bug him on the cheap so as to ensure that Palace do not have money in the pot to spend in an attempt to stop them becoming a threat to your league position.

Why do you print this anti-Liverpool tirade. Truth be damned

Who in their right mind would sell a player like Bolasie who has got years ahead of him for a player who is coming to the end of his career?
Why take on Lambert when Palace have got a similar but better player in that position in Glen Murray?
Why would Palace want to sell a player who is pivotal to their counter attacking style in terms of pace and assists?
Unless Liverpool are prepared to exchange Sterling as well as pay his extortionate wage demands, dream on!

Bolasie has been valued at £40m – £60m by Palace as they are prepared to ward off any unwanted interest in any of our star players as Alan Pardew is building a team to be proud of and wants nobody to try and derail his plans.

Time for Liverpool to look at other possible signings and leave clubs like Palace to develop their own players.

Palace 3 Liverpool 1 in case you forgot what Bolasie did to you.
