Liverpool are reportedly favourites to sign the young Barca midfielder
According to reports in the past 24 hours, Liverpool are on the verge of signing one of Barcelona’s most exciting young talents, Sergi Samper.
As reported in the likes of the Daily Mirror and the Metro, the 20 year old has grown frustrated at the fact that he has only managed 4 games for the first team this season and that the prospect of having to carry on playing for Barcelona B does not appeal to him.
The papers also report that Arsenal are interested in the player (surprise, surprise) but that the young Spanish star prefers a switch to Anfield. No doubt as his prospects of first team football are much more likely.
Samper has played over 60 times for Barcelona’s B side and is considered to be one of the club’s brightest prospects.
No fee has, as yet, been indicated by any of the sources and with Samper apparently having signed a 4 year deal with the club in 2013 the Reds would, at least, have to part with a decent fee for the youngster.
