Rodgers believes there is nobody better qualified for the job

When Brendan Rodgers speaks, whether it be in post-match press conferences, interviews or generally any time there is a micro-phone around, you can almost guarantee there will be a large portion of Liverpool fans bracing themselves for the inevitable daft comments.

And while nobody expects Rodgers to say he isn’t the best man for his own job, he has seemingly rubbed Liverpool fans the wrong way again with the timing of his comments, after such a poor showing in the FA Cup semi final on Sunday afternoon.

Rodgers is reported in a number of sources, who were present at his pre-match press conference, as saying: “I don’t think there is anyone better. That is the reality of how I see it. Three months ago I was a tactical genius. Now I have lost a game and it is not so good.

“I have got a strong relationship with the owners and they understand that this was going to be the process. I haven’t taken over a machine that was for 10 years used to winning trophies.”

Much has been said since the weekend about Rodgers’ successes and failures, both on the pitch and in the transfer market, and many Liverpool fans have voiced their concerns this week about whether Rodgers is the right man for the job. The next month will be a big one for Rodgers, particularly with the likes of Jurgen Klopp and Rafa Benitez likely to be available in the summer.

And here lies the problem with brendan. We knew he was inexperienced rookie, young and promising manager leaning on the job. I doubted from the start his ability to cut it at the top…instead of looking at himself in the mirror and admitting he must improve, he sees the portrait of himself and whispers, I’m a great manager. He has stopped progressing and with that, the club as a whole. That was always the danger.
Genious 3 months ago? Let’s see, there’s 4 points v ludogorez and 1 v Basel at home. Worst CL Campaign ever. Played 6 games, scored 4 goals and fielded reserves, threw the towel v Real Madrid. Worked all season to get there but no tactical know how and no bottle.
Then there’s the 7 games winless streak, and other barren spells. Sorry brendan, you spent a fortune in the summer and made no progress.
Look at the transfers. Borrini, Lambert, lalana, Agger out Lovren in , whichever way you look at his transfers, they have been a dissaster.
The man is delusional, great performance v west broom? We needed 3 points Brendan! He belives his own hype, lives the sound of his own voice but it’s all talk.
Don’t even get me started on his record on make or break games…
The owners , at best have to show him the door. At worst, sit him in a chair, examine the 180 page dossier and him him a deliver, or get the hell out ultimatum.

I think Erin really hits the bulls eye. We all know (except his own fans and the man himself) that is is delusional beyond doubt but we all hope for the sake of this great club of ours, JH and FSG does not believe this hype.

Here is a man given 3 years and hundred and millions of pounds, except the fluke of last season, delivers absolutely nothing, zero, ziltch, no trophies, no success. No place else in the world where a manager is given time and money delivers absolutely nothing and was not held accountable. Only LFC and FSG would allow this sad state of affairs.

His fans and the man himself tout him to be a tactical genius. Well i was struggling to find this genius at work in the losses to Villa,Hull, MU, Arsenal, WBA and we were lucky to win at QPR as our Captain Marvel saved us. He wants us to believe that the loss of just 1 player had brought us this disaster of a season. I thought he was supposed to be some tactical genius and all this happened because of the departure of 1 player however good he is ?

His transfers ? I think 100 mill spent just this season alone with no notable success says it all.

Can you just imagine what proven winners, those managers of the caliber of Rafa or Klopp would bring if given 3 years and hundred of millions pound can bring to LFC ? Rafa had to deal with those 2 cowboys plus limited funds and yet brought us a CL title in his first season, come close to a second, 2nd place in the league and an FA cup. Similarly Klopp won bucket loads of trophies with limited resources and was very successful with young players at Dortmund. I think these people can be classified as geniuses, sorry not you BR. The much maligned KD in his second spell won at least the League cup. BR ?

This season, FSG had a very small window of opportunity to right what is wrong as Klopp and Rafa is available. Do the right thing and appoint either one as the new manager, our club would progress and prosper. Ponder or much worse lack the courage to act, we would continue to see our club drop further into the abyss. I do not care what Jamie says, THAT banner says it right. What would it be JH and FSG, do you have the courage to do the right thing for LFC ?
