Liverpool FC have today announced that Jordan Henderson has signed a new long-term deal with the club. There had been some concerns in recent months that Steven Gerrard’s deputy may end up in a similar situation to Raheem Sterling, but Henderson has assuaged those concerns today by signing on the dotted line.
Henderson, who joined from Sunderland in 2011, has played almost 200 games for the Reds, scoring 20 goals and has shown in the past couple of seasons that he may have what it takes to go on to become a top Liverpool player and the club will be delighted to get the player signed up, with there being reported interest from Chelsea and Manchester City.
The 24 year old will now likely be contracted to Liverpool until around 2020, with claims that the club have rewarded his form and commitment with a £100,000 a week contract.
