Liverpool have launched a new channel on the club’s official website in tribute to Gerrard

As the curtain falls on Steven Gerrard’s illustrious Liverpool career, the club will showcase the definitive story of his life at Anfield, with a ground-breaking digital campaign.

Liverpool FC are today launching a dedicated section on the official club website celebrating Gerrard’s remarkable career in six stunning chapters, from childhood to his final game in a Liverpool FC shirt via a unique responsive web experience.

Launched with four of the six chapters, the digital campaign will be updated daily and the final two chapters will be completed during Gerrard’s final week with the club – following his last game at Anfield and building up to his final match of the season away to Stoke City on Sunday 24 May.

LFC’s social media channels will showcase exclusive clips while the hashtag #ThanksStevie will be used to unite and engage LFC fans around the world.

Matthew Baxter, Chief Media Officer, Liverpool FC, said, “This is the first time a Premier League Club has created a dynamics parallax web experience to celebrate the career of a player.

Steven has contributed so much to LFC, the City of Liverpool and millions of fans around the world and we wanted to launch a ground-breaking digital tribute.”

Alongside the stylish tribute pages, LFCTV and LFCTV GO will also be paying homage to the captain. Gerrard: My Liverpool’, an exclusive hour long documentary, will premiere on LFCTV on Saturday 23 May, at 7.30pm The Reds longest serving captain talks candidly about the highs and lows of his 17 years at Liverpool FC and former players and managers, including Kenny Dalglish and Rafa Benitez, speak exclusively about his time at the club.

Currently available to view on LFCTV GO ‘Gerrard: Born and Red’ talks to the men credited with guiding Gerrard through his formative years before finally breaking into LFC’s first team. Steve Heighway, Hughie McAuley and Dave Shannon reflect on Gerrard’s career and fans will hear the trio recall Gerrard’s first steps towards Liverpool greatness as well as discussing life after the Reds.

Gerrard: All the Goals’, Friday 29th May at 7pm adds to the schedule and will feature every goal from the mid-fielders 17 year first team career.

Steven Gerrard will also feature in the brand new show ‘Liverpool’s Greatest’ where six candidates are championed as the club’s best ever, with fans voting for their favourite. The show airs on the 26th May at 8pm.
