Lacazette has been linked with Liverpool on a number of occasions

Lacazette has been linked with Liverpool again this week

According to reports in the Daily Mirror Liverpool are ready to push the club’s summer transfer plans up a gear after missing out on a target to rivals Man Utd and are looking at two of Europe’s hottest young strikers, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Lacazette has been a name mentioned in increasingly reverant tones over the past two seasons, scoring over 50 goals for Lyon during that time and, at 23, it seems the time is now right for the Frenchman to make a move to a bigger club.

Liverpool have been linked with Lacazette in both previous transfer windows and a number of other sources are also reporting that the Reds have gone as far as to table an offer for the young striker. It is believed that the Lyon forward could be attained for around £20 million but Liverpool will need to move fast as the club will not be able to go toe to toe with rivals if a bidding war starts.

As for Aubameyang, it’s been a while since his name has cropped up but he would also be near the top of many Liverpool fan’s wish lists for the summer, after his impressive form over the past few seasons at St Etienne and Borussia Dortmund.

Current Gabon international, Aubameyang has scored 79 goals in 196 games over the past four seasons, averaging almost a goal every two games. He is currently having his best season to date, with 22 goals for the season so far with Dortmund.

The French-born star prefers to play as a striker but his pace and speed mean he can be deployed to good effect out wide too, something that may appeal to Liverpool. Particularly if Sterling does move on in the summer.

The reports claim that Liverpool’s interest in the striker is more tentative than in Lacazette however, meaning that a fee has yet to be mentioned but he is likely to be available for around the same as the Lyon striker.

Are either of these the sort of player Liverpool should be going for and, if so, who would you prefer? Should the Reds make moves for both? Let us know your thoughts on these latest rumours below.

Would love to see both these players at Liverpool for next season but it’s doubtfull .well end up with Ings instead. If we could only have 1 out of the 2 I’d choose Aubameyang first

If the news is genuine I think that signing wud be a gud one for us. Getting both and do away with sterling

We just need Benteke & Aubameyang. A striker with good positioning to complement the good work of Coutinho & Henderson.
