Klopp’s statement released today would seem to rule him out of the Liverpool job

With FSG’s Tom Werner reportedly flying in to Liverpool for talks with Brendan Rodgers on Tuesday, all the talk was of whether or not Jurgen Klopp would become the boss.

Recent polls suggested that, with Rafa Benitez stepping down at Napoli to move across to Real Madrid, the Dortmund manager was favoured to take over from Brendan Rodgers, should the Liverpool manager be sacked.

But it has emerged today that Jurgen Klopp has decided he will actually take a break once he finally steps down at Dortmund.

Speaking after seeing his side lose 3-1 to Wolfsburg in the German cup final, Klopp’s statement published by Germany’s SID agency said: “After seven intense and emotional years, I think it’s a good idea to let the numerous memories settle in before I take on a new challenge with my coaching team, refreshed and fully motivated.

“I’m going to take a break until further notice.”

With no other top class manager known to be available, it appears that Liverpool may well be sticking with Brendan, after all, with reports last week indicating that FSG were considering other available managers before deciding whether to sack Rodgers.

How do you feel about these quotes today, are you still holding out hope that there will be a big change at the top? Let us know your thoughts on Jurgen Klopp’s statement below.

Looks like were stuck with Rodgers again,or knowing FSG they’ll bring someone like klinsman in ,gutted about klopp but would like Ancelotti. So it looks like another season with top quality players of Rodgers elk like Ings ,Milner and more average players for us.

Whether klopp is taking a break there are other gud managers like anceloti who can take us forward Brendan Rodgers has failed us in so many ways

You must not give up on J Klopp. Just treat all statements as if you were playing the TV game ‘Catchphrase’. In otherwords just ‘Say what you see’! I would say 3 or 4 weeks break with his family at their favourite holiday location would be sufficient for the great man to recharge his batteries and be ready to motor again. May I ask the Liverpool players – If you were looking to the bench for inspiration would you prefer to see Ancelotti, Klopp or Rodgers there? I hope you get him!

Fingers crossed we get Klopp. Proven manager as opposed to the clown we have now. The sooner the yanks sack Rodgers the sooner we an get Klopp in and start rebuilding with decent players as opposed to Ings and all the others we have been linked with.

It was idiots like Steve,David, Dave and asiimwe daniel who cost Rafa his job, got us Dodgeson and lost KK his job. The world doesn’t give you instant gratification let alone a football club that nearly went bust if it hadn’t been for FSGs rescue, get real you whinging gets.
