The Inter star has seemingly confirmed he’s going nowhere this summer
It promises to be the main transfer saga of the summer, at present at least, but the reports from Italy at the moment are that Inter Milan’s Mateo Kovacic is not coming to Anfield.
The talented Croatian midfielder has been back and forth so many times, he’ll almost certainly end up at Tottenham instead. All jokes aside, the latest news is that the Reds won’t be bringing in another young talent in the mold of Philippe Coutinho.
The club had seemed on the verge of signing the player, with only personal terms to be agreed, according to news from Italy late last week. A fee as small as £16 million had been agreed and Liverpool were almost over the line.
However, news on Monday seemed to confirm that the opposite was true, with even Liverpool having distanced themselves from a move for the player.
But now the player himself seems to have confirmed that he’s going nowhere, after telling Tuttosport “For now I’m still happy in Italy, but we’ll see about the future.
“Now I’m thinking about my holidays. I only know that I’m due back at Appiano Gentile on July 5.
“That’s why I haven’t heard anyone from the club yet.”

im sure rodgers knows the need to buy a worthy replacement for stevie or loosing his job , i really hope we get it right this time with good signings last season was a real dissaster.

this is quite astonishing…the deal was almost ok..now it seems to be off…why? can’t we pay the required fee for such an excellent player…we can not afford to lose kova…he is the right one to bring something that was missing to liverpool….creativity…we need him…don’t miss him out…get him signed at any cost…I’m sure he will be a cracker to our club
