Illarramendi has again been linked with a move to Anfield today

There’s little to do in the off-season but think about potential signings and Sunday’s press have thrown up a couple of interesting ones, with Liverpool linked to Swedish U21 star Ludwig Augustinsson and claims that the club have made a higher bid for Illarramendi.

The 21 year old left back has only been at his current club, Copenhagen, since January, playing 5 times for the club since then. He also made his debut for the senior Swedish team in 2015, starting in another game since then.

The Swedish youngster has been one of the standout players at the U21s European Championship. While he may not be considered a starter, he would further add to the depth of the Reds squad, whilst simultaneously being ‘one for the future’. No fee is reported but the player moved to Copenhagen for a fee of around £950,000-1 million, so the club will have to pay a few million, at least.

Meanwhile, the Asier Illarramendi rumours persist, with this morning’s press claiming Liverpool have returned to his club with an improved offer this week. It’s unlikely he has a future at Real, considering the likes of Kroos and Modric are ahead of him, whilst Rafa Benitez will no doubt wish to make a few additions to the squad himself, further jeopardizing the midfielder’s position at the club.

But the simple fact that Rafa is at Real may stand Liverpool in good stead, giving them a leg up on any rivals for the player’s signature. However, at present, Liverpool appear to be the only club linked to the 25 year old.

Do you know much about the young Swedish full back, and would the Real star improve the Reds’ midfield? Let us know your thoughts below.

Hope we don’t go for Illarramendi…looks very slow, chunky, and lacks horizontal mobility…will never make it in the premier league in central midfield, makes Luis Alberto look quick…like the real Madrid winger though pace power goal scorer….

I have no comment on this the real Madrid midfielder currently, but Liverpool has done well so far this season to bring in some experienced legs like miner.Firmino and clyne equally good signings but we should make moves for more experienced legs,Bacca should have been bought at all cost but the thought of Higuain still sounds good to me…#YNWA#

Yes to all my colleagues! They have reason well.my contribution is we need a real goal machine…good goal scorer to compliment every effort made.sturrige stored all our goal last season having sold the best striker (suarezgoal)for money.by and large we need a striker this is because even if u have hundred playmaker and these two things r lacking: holding midfielder and goal puncher the team will still remain imbalance.thank u
