As if the Reds haven’t already signed enough players this summer, reports in the past 24 hours (via the Daily Express) are claiming that the club will soon make a move for PSG left back Lucas Digne.

The 22 year old first moved to PSG in 2013, for a fee believed to be in the region of 15 million Euros from Lille, but has since found his playing time limited, making just 43 appearances in the two seasons since, scoring one goal.

The talented left back is very highly-rated in France, managing to make 8 appearances for the national team in the process, despite struggling to break into the cash-rich first team at PSG and Liverpool are believed to be prepared to bring the player in as competition for Moreno.

The current number one left back at Anfield had a poor six months at the end of last season, and the lack of competition from Jose Enrique simply highlighted the lack of strength in that position for Liverpool.

Digne is believed to be available for loan, but another loan move for a young full back would make little sense for LFC, considering Manquillo has just been sent back to Atletico Madrid, following a mixed season.

However, reports today indicate that Digne wants out of PSG for first team football on a permanent basis and could be available for as little as £7 million. For that sort of fee Liverpool would be daft to not at least make the attempt for such a talented, experienced young player.

Should Liverpool make a move for the French left back, or should efforts be concentrated elsewhere? Let us know your thoughts below.

Liverpool don’t need average player, must Liverpool always go for rejected player deem.

For £7-£10m it makes sense, but I feel it is too early to give up on Moreno.
The way things seem to be going we seem to have 2 teams, so I would be very tempted to have one team that plays in all the league matches:
Mignolet, Clynne, Moreno,Skertle, Sakho, Lucas, Milner, Henderson, Coutinho, Firmino, Benteke.
    Cup Matches:
Bogdan, Wisdom, Digne, Toure, Lovren, Can, Allen, Markovic, Ibe, Ings, Origi.

Moreno is not strong enough defensively. Liverpool would be foolish not to buy another LB. Digne is bigger, stronger and a better defender.

The Reds should go for another strong left back

liverpool is slow in signing the players. Marcco Reus was to join liverpool, bt is like arsenal is going to sign him, pedro was to join liverpool, bt is like have given up for man u…… Last season sanchez went to arsenal and that made liverpool to drop frm position 2 to position 6. Without pedro or marcco reus liverpool we are heading no where.

BR seems to forget we also need another CB. Either give Tiago Llori (he is good and an instant upgrade to Lovren) a chance or buy another established P.L CB. Thanks to his foolishness last season we paid big bucks in Lovren and end up with a dud, i do not think that he would suddenly be a world beater in a season.
