Sterling finally moved on, leaving the Reds clean of dirty affair

It’s been a mixed bag of a day, with the Reds getting their pre-season tour off to a start, whilst Raheem Sterling was officially sold to Manchester City.

Sterling has been angling for a move since not long after the Christmas period, with his agent and the player ensuring that the situation at Anfield became as distasteful as the months wore on, culminating in a couple of huge bids from Manchester City.

But, it was a case of third time lucky for City and Sterling as the Manchester side’s massive final bid of £49 million was accepted, with Sterling today passing a medical and flying out to meet up with his team mates on the club’s pre-season tour.

From the Reds perspective, Liverpool today started off the club’s own pre-season tour with a 4-nil win against a True Thai Premier League All-stars 11 in Bangkok.

The Reds put out two different sides either side of half time, with the likes of Bogdan, Gomez and Ings making their friendly debuts for Liverpool. The second half saw Origi, Milner and Clyne makes their debuts, with Origi grabbing a late, deserved goal to cap off a superb win.

The standouts for Liverpool were Henderson, Markovic and Lallana, with Origi proving a real handful with his movement, but the jury will remain out on whether he can provide the 15-20 goals a season that Liverpool missed last year.

Did you watch the game; were you impressed by the lads first outing? Let us know your thoughts below.

Well the True Thia Allstars weren’t exactly the team to be proud of beating, though the new boys put in good performances considering the humidity and heavy rain.
Bogdan really had nothing to do so not sure on his first outing Ings was unlucky to have had his first goal unfairly disallowed
Origi gave a very good performance with the woodwork saving the Allstars on two occasions but found the net with a great header. Could go on but pleased with first outing. Cannot wait to see them against Stoke
