As is to be expected during the summer, new signings will be debated, and Brendan’s top striker target has garnered more heated discussion than many others. Benteke has proved goal scoring ability with 42 goals in 88 games.
There is no doubt that he can put the ball away. He has proven that against Liverpool a few too many times. He is an intimidating presence to defenders. But is a big man what Liverpool needs? Does that fit Rodgers style?
Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert both are large center forwards, and we all see how well that worked for us. Not to mention the huge fee Aston Villa are asking. There are plenty of cons to this purchase. So why is Brendan still after him?
Liverpool is looking to negotiate a lower fee than his reported buyout clause, which at 30 million would be far too much. If that is truly the price we are willing to pay then surely there are better options. However I don’t believe Liverpool are willing to pay that price, but that Aston Villa will be persuaded by lower, yet still enticing bids.
Whatever the case may be, I am willing to bet that Benteke will be making his way to Anfield at some point this summer. When Rodger’s gets his man, as he has impressively done all summer, Benteke will fit in well with our current team.
THATS IF MAN U DONT GET HIM FIRST
we need someone lyk benteke, strong, can score goal…what else did lfc nid again?
Just get him quickly. He will do well. I believe he will improve the squad.
yea I like benteke very much,,, but yet I want Liverpool to go for a top striker
