With Christian Benteke set to sign for Liverpool from Aston Villa, after the Reds activated his £32.5m release clause, seven new faces will have arrived at the club for this season, and one or two more could still be on their way.

However, it’s unlikely any more players will be bought by Brendan Rodgers unless he can ship out a few first. Despite the squad looking stronger for 2015/16, there remains some considerable deadwood that needs to be cleared.

If extra funds and wages can be generated by selling Liverpool’s fringe players this summer, then do not rule out more arrivals at Anfield.

There have already been a number of departures, with Glen Johnson joining Stoke City on a free transfer, goalkeeper Brad Jones being released, Iago Aspas ending his unsuccessful stint with Liverpool by returning to Celta Vigo, Sebastian Coates possibly securing first-team football by moving to Sunderland, while Javi Manquillo has returned to parent club Atletico Madrid and Luis Alberto has again been sent to Spain on loan. Younger players have also left Liverpool on loan to gain first-team experience.

Yet undoubtedly the two most high-profile exits have been Raheem Sterling effectively forcing a move to Manchester City, but for a fantastic price of £49m, and our iconic captain Steven Gerrard beginning a new challenge in the United States with LA Galaxy.

However, the Anfield exit door will almost certainly see a few more players before the transfer window is over, and here are four players who are likely to be making their way out the door.

There is urgent need to sort out the left back position. Moreno is not good enough for the big games neither is it safe to be playing Gomez out of place. Remember Sterling’s complaints.
