Keita has – once again – been linked with a move to Anfield

Despite the club, manager and local press all but declaring that 99.9% of Liverpool’s transfer business is done, that hasn’t stopped the press from coming up with a dozen new rumours everyday and today is no different with reports continuing from Wednesday that Liverpool are looking to sign Keita Balde Diao.

The Lazio strike has been at the club since 2011, when he signed from Barcelona’s youth system after falling out with the club. His debut came in 2013; a season in which he went on to score 5 goals and tot up 3 assists for the club.

Balde is talented young forward but his record of 6 goals in almost 50 games for Lazio would raise some questions about the sense of signing another talented youngster when there are already so many at the club.

But sources such as talkSport and the Metro are insisting that both Liverpool and (surprise, surprise) Arsenal are keen to take the 20 year old Senegalese star from Lazio.

The reports also claim that the forward has been made aware of interest from both of the Premier League sides, amongst others, and will hold talks with the Serie A club’s president Claudio Latito after the weekend.

According to transfermarkt.co.uk, Balde is only valued at around £6 million, however given the current inflated state of the transfer market it’s likely that Lazio would be attempted to extort more than that from any potential suitors.

It’s hard to see any feet in this one but, if it came about, how keen would you be for the Reds to sign Keita? Let us know your thoughts below.
