It was a great start for Christian Benteke on Monday night, putting in a good display and getting his first goal at Anfield on his debut.

The Reds £32 million man has begun how he hopefully means to continue, by netting on his Anfield debut, much like many of the club’s great strikers of recent years and if he can pair well with Coutinho, Firmino and the returning Sturridge fans could be in for a very entertaining season.

The player himself seemed very pleased with his contribution, check out the audio below:

Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers was pleased with his team’s performance, despite looking off the pace and being outplayed for large swathes of the match.

The Reds manager confused many by opting for the same system and starting eleven against Bournemouth, after many agreed following the very narrow victory over Stoke last week, that a couple of tweaks and changes would be best.

But Rodgers is just pleased with the victory, which sees his team go into their first top 5 clash of the season in six days at the Emirates.

Bournemouth completely outplayed us and the Brodge is pleased with the performance? The man is just a sad mess.
