Once the action finally gets underway this afternoon, Gerrard’s absence will quickly be forgotten but, for many, it will be a strange day today as we enter into a season without a Steven Gerrard-led Liverpool. Even stranger still that Gerrard won’t feature at all, nevermind no longer being captain.
Gerrard is well into his LA Galaxy career and shared a good luck message to his former team-mates yesterday on Instagram, wishing the old and new players well in their new season.
