Liverpool legends will take on Manchester United legends in Stockholm tonight in a friendly match for both clubs’ charity foundations; a game that’s sure to bring in big crowds and television audiences expecting a spectacle.

But given the bad blood between the clubs over the years it’ll likely be as hectic and full blooded a contest as we’d see on any match day.

And former Reds keeper, and hero of the 2005 Istanbul Champions League final, Jerzy Dudek, doesn’t think there’s such a thing as a ‘friendly’ between the two.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, Jerzy said: “For sure, it’ll be competitive. I don’t think anyone wants to have a friendly, nice game, everyone wants to win – it’s in our blood.

“They want to come and win against us as well, there’s a lot of history even if you’re only playing legends.

“There will be a lot of big challenges on the pitch.”

The two sides will face off in Stockholm tonight at 6pm with former Reds and legends such as Jason McAteer, Dietmar Hamann, Sander Westerveld, Phil Babb, Stephane Henchoz, Luis Garcia, Vladimir Smicer, Bjorn Tore Kvarme, Patrik Berger, Jerzy Dudek taking to the field.

With some former greats on both sides it’s sure to be a blood and thunder match, just like old times.

Are you lucky enough to be going to the match tonight? Let us know in the comments.
