It’s an unspoken secret that many inside and outside of Anfield that former Dortmund manager, Jurgen Klopp, would be the man to take Liverpool back to the promised land but a former favourite – Didi Hamann – has actually come out and spoken those words today.

Speaking to Sky Germany, Didi said: “The pressure in Liverpool gets bigger. The fans are on the barricades. But the coach is backed by the club, and anyway the question is: Would Klopp move there during the season?”

It’s a question many would like to know an answer to, sooner or later, with pressure now piled fully on Brendan Rodgers’ shoulders after a slow start to the season quickly turned slightly disastrous after conceding six goals in two games at home to West Ham and away at Manchester United.

Worryingly for Reds fans, Hamann is of the belief that Klopp would’ve almost certainly signed if asked over the summer but now may be destined for Dortmund’s great rivals, Bayern Munich. He continued: “Had they asked before the season, I am 99 percent sure that he would have joined them. Many people say that he will take over Bayern on July 1, 2016, but I don’t know whether he’s a fit there. He’d be a great fit at Liverpool.”

However Klopp’s agent, Marc Kosicke, has stated over the summer that the German manager is more likely to choose a side where he feels a connection, as opposed to a team that is guaranteed to win. He told Spox.com in June: “If he goes to a stadium and feels the energy and thinks that he can do something here, that might be more appealing to him than to go to the supposedly great.. ”

Either way, if the Reds are on the lookout for a new manager in the foreseeable future, Jurgen Klopp is definitely going to be near the top of the list, with many Liverpool fans already pleading with John W Henry via Twitter over the weekend to bring in the 47-year old.
