Lucas is looking for Liverpool to go about the game in the right way on Saturday

With the biggest match of the Reds season due to kick off in just over 48 hours, both sides will begin their final preparations after players began returning from international break.

Neither team is bang in form, and both have players that are either injured, suspended or otherwise and all available players will have to be at their best to ensure the right result.

And Liverpool midfielder, Lucas Leiva, believes that the players must remain totally focused on the match.

The away side arrive at Old Trafford nursing the wounds of a 3-0 defeat to West Ham two weeks ago and will be keen to put that result past them. On the other hand the home side have hardly been on top form, which should make for an interesting encounter.

Speaking to Liverpool.com, Lucas said: “The two teams arrive in a similar situation with a lot of new players, a lot of new signings, and I think it’s going to be a good game.

“We just have to approach it in the right way, as we did against Arsenal, and hopefully we get a good result there.”

“It’s probably one of the biggest games of the season.

“I think if you get a good result there it can give you a lot of belief and confidence going forward.

“It’s a team that will be challenging for the top four and titles so it’s a good opportunity for us to put the result against West Ham behind us and start again.”

While many may have expected United to be challenging, a win for Liverpool would be a further stumbling block in the home side’s progression and give the Reds the upper hand.
