There are reports today again linking LFC with two long time targets: Ezequiel Lavezzi of PSG and Manchester United’s Victor Valdes.

Both have been linked with Liverpool in each of the last 3-4 transfer windows but neve materialised, as the club appeared to either not be genuinely interested or opted to move for alternative targets.

But the claims are that Liverpool will move for both in January.

Bizarrely, Valdes remains at Man Utd, despite not getting much game time and seemingly falling out with Van Gaal. The former Barcelona goalie seemed a good coup for Utd, particularly with De Gea looking like moving to Real Madrid eventually but Valdes has never really made it at Old Trafford.

However, it now appears that Liverpool are looking for more a much more experienced back up for Simon Mignolet. Quite why Valdes would leave Old Trafford to play back up for Mignolet is a question for another day.

As for Lavezzi, you feel that this could go on until the PSG forward retires. But the Metro are reporting on claims in Calciomercato that the 30 year old is again not wanted at the Paris based club and could be available very cheap come January.

But considering that Liverpool signed Christian Benteke, Danny Ings and Roberto Firmino in the summer, and now have Daniel Sturridge available again, it does raise some questions as to why the club would require a 30 year old with no Premier League experience when other areas of the team could do with strengthening.

How would you fancy the Reds signing either of these players? Let us know your thought in the comments.
