With Rodgers under intense pressure, will Lovren get a start tonight?
After the buoyant mood at the end of the summer, with Ings and Milner bringing Premier League experience, and a couple of new £30 million attacking signings, it was hard to imagine a home game in the Capital One Cup against Carlisle being described as ‘must win’.
But that is exactly the position Brendan Rodgers finds himself in as his team takes on the top scoring side in the English football league at Anfield this evening.
In that position you’d no doubt be tempted to field your strongest side, simply to secure victory. But with improvement in the Premier League a necessity and failure in the Europa League likely to draw anger from fans Rodgers will have to find a balance to the side he picks.
With that in mind, we’ve put together a team that, whilst heavily rotated, should be capable of getting a positive result. The way things have been going lately though, there seems no guarantees with this Liverpool team.

Well so far so bad for the Liverpool fans all over the world, the people that offered Brendan Rogers Liverpool F C job made the biggest mistake of their very life. He has shown over the years that he is not the right person for the job. please let the owner of the club sack him now to save the club from collapsing. Possibly sack him tonight after Capital one Cup.
