Ibe has spoken of his excitement to get working under Klopp

With international duty almost over for another month, most of Liverpool’s players will be heading back to Melwood in the next 24 hours and will undergo their first training sessions since the new manager took charge last week.

Yesterday, prior to playing for England, Adam Lallana spoke of his excitement at the prospect of playing for Jurgen Klopp and today it’s Jordan Ibe’s turn.

As he prepares to face Kazakhstan tonight Ibe has expressed his own excitement to get to work under the 48 year old and believes his development can continue under his watch.

Speaking to theFA.com, Ibe said: ” I can’t wait to get back and start working with him now.

“I can only try to get better with the help he’s hopefully going to provide for me, and there’s a lot of other young players, so working around him should be great and also for the senior players in the squad.

“It’s a shame [about Brendan Rodgers], because he was an important man in my career. But that’s how football is. There are no promises in football and I wish him all the best for the future.

“I now need to focus and work under the new manager. He’s got good experience and did some great stuff with Borussia Dortmund.”

It is the experience of bringing through many talented youngsters at Dortmund that Ibe will not doubt hope bodes well for himself and players like his U21 team mate, Joe Gomez.

The manager aside, it is also particularly pleasant to hear Ibe’s words wishing Rodgers well for the future. In the current climate of young players forgetting where they came from and only looking out for themselves it’s refreshing when a young player like Ibe comes through and hopefully his progress will kick on under Klopp.

Can Ibe continue his progression under Klopp, after stalling in the first few months of this season? Give us a shout with your views in the comments.
