It’s been barely over two weeks since Jurgen Klopp took over at Liverpool but after three draws in a row against Spurs, Rubin Kazan and Southampton, the pressure is really on for Liverpool to give the 48 year old his first win.

After coming so close on Sunday against the South coast side, the Reds will be hoping that crucial first win comes tonight, in the Capital One Cup against fellow Premier League side Bournemouth. Particularly after the first half of the current round of fixtures saw both Arsenal and Chelsea suffer shock exits at the hands of smaller sides.

And the Reds’ former Southampton man, Adam Lallana, has said that the players are working as hard as they can to ensure Jurgen’s demands are met and that the players give him what he wants on the pitch.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, Lallana said: “We are striving, we really want that first win and I’m sure the manager does as well.

“We can sense the buzz around Anfield and around the city as well. I think everyone has grasped that and everyone is just working hard to make things right.

“It was disappointing we drew the game against Southampton. Getting the goal and getting our noses in front, it would have been a massive result for us, but it just means we’ve got to strive and keep working harder to get the win we want.”

Despite the goal conceded to Southampton on Sunday, there was plenty of promise on display, and it appears that many of the current squad have already heavily bought into Klopp’s ideas and are working to push in the same direction. None more so than Lallana himself, who has started all three games so far and has begun to look more like the player Liverpool hoped they’d signed last summer.

While he may be rested for tonight’s game against Bournemouth, the England man believes the team can come through tonight but the new boys to the Premier League shouldn’t be underestimated. He continued: “It’s a great chance for us to go far, but Bournemouth are a tough team as they showed when they came to Anfield in the second game of the season.

“We got to the semi-finals of the competition last year and I think it’s important we try and work hard to get one step closer to the final.

“We got so close last year. At the end of the season we were so disappointed because we got to two semi-finals, so it’s important we take it seriously and try and get the win.”

Can the Reds come through against Bournemouth tonight, and how far can Klopp’s men go in this year’s competition? Let us know your thoughts on the game tonight below.
