The former Dortmund manager has reportedly been approached by the club

After being installed as the favourite for the Liverpool job following Brendan Rodgers’ sacking by the club, Jurgen Klopp has now reportedly been approached – officially – by the club with a view to taking over from Rodgers.

A number of sourses, including former players Didi Hamann and Stefan Effenberg, have stated that Klopp would  perfect for the club and that, equally important, the club would be perfect for him.

Effenberg has even been quoted (via BBC World Service Sport) as saying: “He gave me this answer a couple of weeks ago. He said, ‘I’m ready for a team that’s not on the highest level, to create something, to build something up’. This could be Liverpool, right?”

He also made comments regarding the atmosphere and fans, and how similar both LFC and Dortmund are as a group of supporters. In many ways it’s almost as if it’s written in the stars.

Should the club actually make a move for Klopp remains to be seen, but all indications at present are that things could move very quickly over the next few days, provided all parties can come to an agreement. As they say: watch this space.

We should have appointed him since last summer, because the league isn’t balance yet, but I know is not late yet, I know if klopp has all the money Rodgers spent he will deliver something for us.
