Lallana’s Liverpool career has stalled but it could yet be revived

He’s only been at Anfield barely a week, but the ever enigmatic Jurgen Klopp has already breathed life into an ailing club and fan base. There is a real feeling about LFC and the city, at present, that the 48 year old could make a big difference to Liverpool in the short-term, and an even more massive one in the long-term.

There are currently plenty of players at the club that are right up Klopp’s street, with players like Lucas, Milner and Sakho able to provide the energy, work rate and backbone to his team, as Gundongan, Bender and Hummels have before. Whilst the likes of Coutinho, Sturridge and Firmino have the quality that he has previously honed from the likes of Reus, Lewandowski and Kagawa.

But there are a group of players at Anfield who many may believe will be surplus to requirements that could yet make a come-back under the German, with everybody being able to start afresh and impress the new manager. We’ve taken a look at five such players here.

I'm a 32 year old Liverpool fan, living in the heart of the City Centre. I've supported the club since the day I was born and have been writing articles for L4L for over 3 years, writing close over 350 articles in that time. My favorite player of the past generation is Sami Hyypia.

I am the current editor for L4L, with my day job being in R&D for the NHS.

I do not agree with the assessment of Allen. Many forget he was an instrumental component during our long and successful run in the spring of 2013. I would also say the same qualities shone through during our mini-revival last January-March.

How about IBE, is he going to be playing or does he suits klopp’s formations?
