Ben Lockett takes a look at who will make up Klopp’s strongest eleven

Jurgen Klopp is now firmly into his first week as the new manager of Liverpool Football Club. Undoubtedly the players currently undergoing training will already be experiencing life under the German and his demanding, yet productive, efforts.

Not everyone has been available for Klopp in his opening training sessions, with players away on international duty, and others injured. Nevertheless, with the Premier League clash against Tottenham only a few days away, Klopp will surely be formulating a starting XI in his mind in the final couple of training sessions this week.

However, it is unlikely to be his favoured team, or even his favoured formation, in his very first game in charge. Klopp will want to see how his new players cope in matches as he implements his own playing style and methods in the wake of previous boss Brendan Rodgers.

This will certainly take time, as he may also decide to change his playing style to suit the players at his disposal once he recognises their strengths and weaknesses.

Liverpool do have a talented squad at their disposal which lost their way under Rodgers and needs fresh ideas. With Klopp at the helm, Liverpool should be reinvigorated, and they’ll need to be with their upcoming fixture list – Tottenham, Southampton, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Manchester City all face the Reds in the weeks ahead.

Therefore, as Klopp liked to implement a 4-2-3-1 formation at Borussia Dortmund, here is my version of what Liverpool’s strongest team could be under Jurgen Klopp (until January at least).
