Via that ever reliable source, Fichajes.net, a number of sources today are claiming that Liverpool target Mauro Icardi is keen on a move away from Inter Milan.
The Argentine has been at Inter Milan since joining them in 2013 and has been in fine form ever since, scoring 39 goals in 81 games, averaging around 1 goals every 2 games.
But after having had his best season in Serie A to date last season, he has struggled slightly this year, with just 3 goals in 10 games, seeing him dropped for the big clash with Roma. Something which has seen the striker’s future in Milan called into question.
Inter manager, Roberto Mancini has obviously been quick to pour cold water on such rumours, but if Icardi feels that he isn’t the main man at the top of the table club then he may well begin to look elsewhere over the next few months, with Liverpool supposedly head of the queue for the striker’s services.
With Liverpool’s two main men, Daniel Sturridge and Christian Benteke, both prone to regular knocks and injuries, whilst Danny Ings is likely to be out until the end of the season, it is not unlikely that the Reds could target a player like Icardi. As to the validity of these rumours though, well.. we’ll see.
