Amidst all of the fan-fare of Jurgen Klopp’s arrival, most fans (despite what you’ll have read) had their feet firmly on the ground. Nobody was expecting instant miracles and most of us would have just been content to see slow, but steady, progress.

Instead, there are already very clear signs that Klopp’s methods are already starting to hit home and most of the players have clearly bought in to his plans.

As the Reds number one, Simon Mignolet has been at the heart of the action in all but one of the games under Klopp so far and believes that, while there are clear signs of the team progressing, there is no reason why the team can’t go even further.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, Mignolet said: “If you go behind against a Chelsea side who are very tough to beat – 1-0 down after four minutes – and then come back from it, it’s obviously a positive.

“But the most positive thing is that we can still do better and there were still a lot of things to improve against Chelsea, even though we won 3-1, so that can only be a good and positive thing.

“When you play away from home, especially against a team like Chelsea, and you get the three points with a very good performance, then it gives a lot of confidence to the players and the whole squad going forward.

“Even after we fell behind very early in the game, we came back strong and scored three goals and it’s a satisfying feeling to celebrate a victory with the fans.

“Going forward, we’ve got two more games before the international break which are huge for us, so hopefully we can get the same result as we did against Chelsea.”

Liverpool are still unbeaten under Klopp so far, something that many were seeing as a negative, with draws in each of his first three games, until the wins over Bournemouth last Wednesday and Chelsea on Saturday morning put a more positive spin on the 48 year old’s start.

With those two games remaining before the next break, there is a chance to go into the break on a high note by all but progressing in the Europa League with a win on Thursday and further climbing the Premier League table with a win over Crystal Palace.

But as Klopp himself has been keen to reinforce, he and the team are simply taking it one game at a time at the moment.
