Much as was the case on Thursday evening, this was far from a perfect performance against Swansea this afternoon. Liverpool struggled at times to find the decisive pass or that added bit of incisiveness to break the away side down.

But you have to take your luck when it comes and that’s exactly what Klopp’s men did when Swansea conspired to provide them with a penalty. Milner tucked away comfortably and we were on our way to three points.

The concern, of course, remains that Liverpool struggle at home. Away to the big sides, we seem to have engineered a plan that sees us dominate, even from a defensive position but sides such as Swansea (one win since August) make the team look ordinary and on the same level.

Whether it’s the old nervousness leftover from Rodgers’ reign or a sign of a deeper issue remains to be seen. For now, three points are three points and we march onwards and upwards under Jurgen’s watchful eye.
