No, no, don’t worry, we’re not looking to bring Iago Aspas back from Celta Vigo, even if he has scored more goals than any of our current forwards so far this season.

The news (via the Daily Mirror) this morning is that Liverpool are chasing Athletic Bilbao’s star striker, Inaki Williams. The Bilbao born striker has been impressing this season in Spain, having scored 10 goals in 21 games for the club sitting just inside the top half of the table.

The 21 year old is in his second full season at the club and looks to be really finding form, impressing many with his pace, strength and penchant for the spectacular.

Williams has also attracted interest from both Madrid sides but their 2 transfer window ban could put a serious spanner in the works of either sides attempts to sign the player, meaning the Reds would face a much less congested field, should they make an attempt to sign the striker.

The report claims that Bilbao are trying to tie the player down to a new contract, which would see an enormous buyout clause inserted into his contract, leaving Liverpool on the outside looking in of any transfer battles.

But a move in January could be fruitful, with the player currently having a buyout clause of just £15.3 million, meaning Klopp could add the fastest player in La Liga to an already speedy attack.

Would moving for the player in January be the right thing to do, or should the club be looking elsewhere at present? Let us know your thoughts on Williams in the comments.
