The Real forward has been again linked with a move to Anfield

A weekend off for the Reds tends to mean an increase in gossip and rumours and today is no different, with the name of Real Madrid’s Jese Rodriguez once again emerging.

The club were associated with the 22 year old during the January transfer window, and again a couple of weeks ago and now Spanish site OkDiario (via talkSport) are claiming that Liverpool are looking to put a deal together to bring the Real man to Anfield during the summer.

Jese is highly thought of in Madrid; a youth product with over 80 games for Real’s B side, and a fairly regular fixture over the past 3 seasons, during which he’s played over 20 games each season.

The only issue for the young forward is that he’s so far struggled to break into a forward line consisting of Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale, and unless he suddenly hits a fine vein of form, the Madrid hierarchy would probably not allow a youth product to displace such an expensive set of players.

All things considered, it is highly likely the 22 year old will end up moving on in the summer, much like Alvaro Morata, who moved to Juventus a couple of seasons ago before starting to make a name for himself.

The price quoted for the player is £20 million, and considering the player’s age and quality, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the club sanction a move for such a highly rated Spaniard.
