A special goal from Coutinho tomorrow night would be very welcome indeed

With the second leg of the Red’s Europa League tie against Manchester United tomorrow, all eyes will be on two of the biggest club sides in the world and the pressure will be on each teams top stars to produce the magic to ensure their club progresses.

For the Reds, that prospect shouldn’t be quite as daunting, considering the 2 goal lead Klopp’s side currently hold and Liverpool’s little magician is hoping for a big goal against his club’s arch rivals.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, Coutinho said: “[It would mean] a lot. Whenever we score a goal it is very good. Last week I was close but ended up missing.

“[I have] to continue working to be able to score goals and, of course, to score a goal in a game like this, in the Europa League, would be a very special moment.”

The 23 year old was hair’s breadth away from giving the home side an early 2 goal lead last week before some typical De Gea heroics saved United but the stage is set for somebody to make a big impact and Coutinho can certainly be that man.

Just as likely to be the star of the night though, is Coutinho’s countryman Roberto Firmino and the Brazilian had only positive things to say. He continued: “He is a great player, as I always said before he arrived. The other players and I are very happy to have him with us. He is a key component in our current team.

“As Lucas has said, he is a guy that seems like he is going to score in every game, he assists, so he has been very important and I am happy to see him doing well and helping the team.

“We can see Firmino has adapted very quickly. He is an amazing guy on the field and off the field as well. We are very happy.”

Any good result at Old Trafford tomorrow night is likely to come as a result of the pair, with a supporting cast of the likes of Daniel Sturridge and Adam Lallana but a special goal from Coutinho would be the perfect way to end the tie.
