The Germany international has yet again been linked with following Klopp to Anfield

In the wake of a disappointing defeat to Manchester City in the Capital One Cup final on Sunday, we were always going to read rumours of a clearout (and subsequent influx) of players over the summer.

Today things have gone a little wild, with news that Jurgen Klopp has already identified a number of targets to add quality and depth to his squad for next season.

According to the Daily Mail today, a huge overhaul is planned for the summer and the above three players have been added to existing reports that Liverpool are to bring in Ignacio Camacho, amongst others, when the current season ends.

The paper claims that Piotr Zielinski, a 21 year old Polish international midfielder, is high on Klopp’s list of priorities to fill out the midfield. The Udinese youngster is currently on loan at Empoli in the Serie A and has been highly impressive for the Italian side.

Having spent two seasons on loan at Florence-based club, playing over 60 games, and is reportedly available for around £11 million. The 21 year old has already gained 10 caps for a very strong Poland side, scoring 3 times.

The Daily Express reports that the Reds will look to steal Ben Chilwell from current Premier League leaders Leicester City. 19-year old left-back Chilwell is a product of the Leicester youth academy and, despite playing just a handful of games for the first team so far, is currently being chased by the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United.

Liverpool are now apparently looking to up their interest in the youngster, with Alberto Moreno again struggling with the very basic principles of defending on Sunday and Chilwell could become a prime target, particularly at his supposed valuation of just £3.5 million.

Finally, the the Time’s Tony Barrett has stated that Klopp is making Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze a prime target for the summer window. The German international has struggled more as the season has advanced, to break into Pep Guardiola’s first-team plans on a regular basis.

And Klopp looks determined to team up with his former Borussia Dortmund player again in the summer. Whether or not Gotze would want to join a club in yet another transitional period remains to be seen, but FSG are reportedly prepared to back Klopp in his efforts and match Bayern’s reported £37 million asking price.

Are these three players all the sort of quality that Liverpool should be chasing? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
