The Arsenal winger is apparently on the Reds radar for the summer

According to reports coming from Football Insider this morning, Liverpool are preparing a bid for Arsenal’s winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who’s contract is set to expire in 2018 with the London based club.

The youngster has been at the club since 2011, playing over 140 games for the club in that time, and the Gunners are hopeful that he will sign a new contract. Reports indicate that the 22 year old will be looking for a huge pay increase however, that could see a number of clubs (Liverpool included) swoop in and try to snatch the winger out of Arsenal’s clutches.

Of course, it wouldn’t be the first time the Reds had attempted to sign the England star, having been in the running when he signed for Arsenal five years ago but the club would be having to stump up a significant amount more if they wish to sign him. The reports claim a fee of £30 million could force Arsenal’s hand and allow any interested club to steal him away.

The wide player is currently injured and hasn’t played as much as he might’ve liked this season, so you’d think any interested club would want to be assured that the player is over the worst, particularly with his injury record in recent seasons but that’s never been something to stop a good transfer rumour.

The Reds will reportedly be in a long line of clubs, including Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.
