Many assumed he’d be one of the first players out the day when the previous manager left but Joe Allen may have just give himself hope of an Anfield respite, after some stellar displays over the past few months.
Allen got one of his handful of Premier League starts against Bournemouth on Sunday, in a game the Reds won 2-1, and he called doubts about the midfield dilemma the team now faces in Emre Can and Jordan Henderson’s absences.
And if the few words his manager had to say on the situation are anything to go by, there may be hope for Joe yet, as he seeks to extend a contract that will be up in just over 14 months.
When asked by the assembled press after the match about Allen’s contract on Sunday (via the Daily Mirror), Klopp said: “He deserves a future here, of course.
