With just over a month to the kick off of one of the most anticipated tournaments to date, we’re lucky to have a wealth of quality appearing over the summer, outnumbering any other Premier League club with international representatives. Why so surprised right? Take a look at our players to keep your eye out for in an international shirt over the summer.

Christian Benteke

Has fallen out of favour at Anfield but it’s tough to blame the 25 year old, an obvious victim of the Rodgers/Klopp transition. While he’s likely to have lost his starting position for Belgium to Everton striker Romelu Lukaku who also looks a little bit out of form, he’s definitely likely to be on the bench and/or rotated during the tournament.

Is one of the world’s best on form but he might struggle to find any before the tournament starts on June 10 considering he’s struggling to get a start with Liverpool. Has a real point to prove over the summer and with a goal-filled tournament, can claw himself back into the top five strikers in the Premier League.

Daniel Sturridge

Another one from our rich wealth of goal scorers, providing he shows no sign of his fitness troubles, Sturridge will be pivotal in England’s charge to the title. At his best, he is England’s most dangerous striker however, other than injury, inconsistency has also crept into his game. This has seen him thrown among the rumour-mill as a possible exit from Anfield.

The 26 year old can sweep doubts aside with a strong tournament from start to finish, and if he can lead England to the tournament final, his future will be clear.

Martin Skrtel

While he’s struggled to get on the park of late, form or no form, he’s undoubtedly one of Slovakia’s best and will be heavily relied upon during the tournament. The 31 year old is strong and at his best when he doesn’t doubt himself so he’ll need to be in a good head space come tournament kick-off, not an easy task considering he hasn’t started lately.

Will be front and centre in the first match when they face England before he’ll come up face to face with Gareth Bale so he’s going to be tested. If Slovakia are going to progress, he’ll need to be one of the team’s best.
