Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes has responded to speculation about his future at the Spanish club. The 22 year old has been linked with Manchester United in recent days but according to MaisFutebol there has been long standing interest from Juventus and Liverpool.
In an interview with MaisFutebol, Gomes said he is focusing on the national team and his selection for the squad going to the European Championships in France:
“At this time, and I am very frank, I’m not worried about what will happen. It’s all a mystery. The only certainty I have is that I’m here and I’m with the national team, which is already in itself very good. Now the future is not worrisome. I will not even look at the Euros as a showcase to think about what might happen next. ”
The Italian press have said that Juventus have been in negotiations with Gomes’s club Valencia for a while but the link to the Reds is a new one. The central midfielder has only spent two seasons in Spain, the first on loan from Benfica and the second after signing a permanent five year deal with the Spanish side last summer.
The Guardian have linked Gomes with a £40m move to rivals Manchester United as part of prospective new manager Jose Mourinho’s transfer wishlist after he takes over at Old Trafford.
