Bayer Leverkusen will look to match Liverpool and Manchester United in bidding €20million (£15m) to trigger the release clause in Braga left winger Rafa Silva’s contract, according to A Bola (via noticiasaominuto.com).
The Portuguese international is believds to be a target for the Reds but the player’s future won’t be decided until after Braga’s Portuguese Cup final match against Porto this weekend.
The report also suggests that Porto are interested in the 23 year old but they will not go above the €16million they have already offered for the player. Braga only hold 20% of Silva’s sporting rights so although the Reds will be dealing with the Portuguese club to agree a deal, they will have to pay out the 80% to the player’s other rights holders. No club in the Premier League is allowed to play a player if they are owned partly by a third party unlike abroad where it is common place for agencies to part own or completely own a player.
