Mario Balotelli will return to Liverpool this summer after he failed to prove he merits another loan deal to stay at AC Milan, according to the Corriere Dello Sport.
The Italian newspaper reports that there will be an exodus of players from the San Siro this summer with Balotelli, fellow strikers Carlos Bacca, Jeremy Menez and Luiz Adriano, in addition to goalkeeper Diego Lopez and midfielder Keisuke Honda all departing.
The Rossoneri have also decided not to renew the contracts of Philippe Mexes, Alex, Kevin Prince Boateng and Christian Zapata as the club is struggling financially and is looking to bring a new set of players with Balotelli just one of a number of casualties.
What Jurgen Klopp will decide to do with him is not certain although his style of play and disciplinary issues would suggest that the Italian will be sold at the first available opportunity with China the most likely destination for the player.
