Liverpool are looking into the possibility of signing Sassuolo’s right back Sime Vrsaljko, according to AS in Spain.

The Croatian international has had a good season in Serie A as his side Sassuolo finished sixth ahead of AC Milan and qualified for the Europa League. The 24 year old will be hoping to be in the Croatia side to play in this summer’s European Championships after being named in the 27 man provisional squad for the Euros by coach Ante Cacic.

Reports in Italy have suggested that Vrsaljko is close to a move to Napoli but Spanish newspaper AS believes that both Champions League finalists Atletico Madrid and Liverpool are still in with a shout of capturing the Croatian’s signature. Sassuolo want between €15million (£11.5m) and €20million (£15m) for the player and their General Manager Giovanni Carnevali told Radio Kiss Kiss Napol last week (translation via Football-Italia.net) that there have been others from “foreign clubs:”

“There are several offers for him, including from foreign clubs. In Italy, Napoli have been continually interested since last year, but we won’t give him up easily. In short, we’ll evaluate all good offers from around Europe.”

Vrsaljko has played 35 times in Serie A this season, providing 4 assists. He has 16 caps for Croatia and can play as a full back or further up the pitch as a right winger.
