Liverpool are prepared to pay Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Javier Pastore €7million a year in order to persuade the Argentine playmaker to join the Reds, according to MaxiFoot in France.

The 26 year old has had a troublesome season in Ligue One with injuries and a lack of playing time under Laurent Blanc increasing speculation that he will depart the club this summer.

The Reds are prepared to offer Paris Saint-Germain £27million (€35million) for the player, MaxiFoot reports, but he may need some convincing to join the Premier League club. Although he would be guaranteed a starting position under Jurgen Klopp, Pastore is convinced that the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic will give him a great opportunity to establish himself as a first team player again.

With Ibrahimovic leaving, it will mean Edinson Cavani will take a more central role up front giving Pastore the chance of filling Cavani’s former role in a wide attacking position.
