AC Milan have joined Liverpool and Napoli in the battle to sign Udinese’s Piotr Zielinski, according Gianluca Di Marzio. The self styled transfer “expert” for Sky Sport Italy, writes on his website gianlucadimarzio.com that the Rossoneri would like the Polish international at the San Siro.

New manager Vincenzo Montella is apparently a big fan of the 22 year old after watching the midfielder perform well on loan at Empoli last season when he was Sampdoria manager.

It has been assumed that Zielinski will join Liverpool this summer after a number of claims from Napoli that the player prefers a move to the Premier League. A £9.5m bid is believed to have been lodged with Udinese but since then, there has been no further developments leading AC Milan to believe that they may still have a chance of securing the central midfielder’s signature. Zielinski is currently at the European Championships with Poland. They face Portugal in the first quarter final tonight.
