Bayern could join Liverpool in battle for playmaker

|

Bayern Munich may look to bid for Napoli playmaker Marek Hamsik, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport. Speculation has grown over the 28 year old’s future after his good performances for Slovakia at the European Championships, while his agent has come out to say that there is a “50-50” chance of the player leaving the Italian club this summer. La Gazzetta have also linked the Slovak with moves to Liverpool and Manchester United.

The €45million price tag may however prove to be too much for the Reds, not only because they are about to shell out £30million on another Southampton player Sadio Mane but also because Liverpool’s owners Fenway Sports Group are usually not willing to spend large amounts on players with no resale value.

Although Hamsik is now in the best years, he is also at his most valuable and his next club, if he does indeed change club, would mostly likely be his last big move of his career.
