Karol Csonto, an executive at Stars and Friends, the agency that manages Martin Skrtel, has revealed that the future of the Liverpool defender maybe decided next week.

In an interview with goal.com, Csonto revealed no deal with Turkish club Fenerbahce has been finalised and that they still expect offers from their Turkish rivals Galatasaray and Besiktas. Fenerbahce are believed to have had a £5.5m accepted by Liverpool for the Slovakian but Csonto says Skrtel is still deciding on his future and will make a decision after the European Championships:

“We are so not far that we can say we will finalize things with Fener. There are three clubs who really want him, and we expect Galatasaray and Besiktas to make a good offer too. Skrtel will then consider what is the best option for him when he is done at the European Championships. He has not committed to Fener and will wait to decide once he has all options.”

“It is difficult to say now what will happen with him and where he will go. It is up to him to look at the options and decide. He has to consider everything. Maybe next week we will get a clearer idea, but it is not certain yet that he will join Fener. Anything can still happen.”

Slovakia could depart the European Championships today if they lose to England and Russia beat Wales. If they do get through to the last 16 though, the future of the 31 year old may take a bit longer to be decided. The centre back struggled for game time under Jurgen Klopp last season due to both form and fitness and is expected to leave Anfield after eight years at the club.
