Crystal Palace and Aston Villa have joined Liverpool in the pursuit of Ajax winger Anwar El Ghazi, according Gianluca Di Marzio, transfer expert for Sky Sport Italia.

Di Marzio believes that the Chinese consortium headed by Dr Tony Xia at Villa can offer good terms to the Dutch international despite being relegated to the Championship at the end of last season.

The link to Crystal Palace is also a new one but Liverpool’s connection to the 21 year old goes back several months. The winger has been in great form for Ajax scoring 11 goals and providing 2 assists in 34 matches as the Dutch club narrowly missed out to PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie. The Amsterdam side had to beat De Graafschap on the last day of the season to regain the league title but only managed a 1-1 draw, handing the league to PSV after they beat FC Zwolle 3-1. It proved to be Frank De Boer’s last match in charge of Ajax.
